  • Who am I helping?
    You are helping children in low-performing schools, at-risk children in institutions (children homes & government approved correctional schools), children and families in urban poor communities and children in rural communities. *Children includes youth (18 years & below) *Families includes young adults (19 – 25)
  • Why should I help them?
    These are children & families who are trapped in poverty. They face many challenges that pull them out of school: they are hungry & malnourished, struggle with poor grades, lack guidance & attention, live in poor conditions and come from unstable homes. With your help, they have a chance to break free from poverty. When you give, you’re making a difference for you & your family too, because you’re investing in building a better society, community and nation that we & our future generations can thrive in.
  • How am I helping them?
    You are helping them by: • Providing for children’s basic needs through addressing hunger at school and providing nutrition and nutritional education • Supporting their basic education by increasing their literacy so that they have opportunities to further their tertiary education & have better employment opportunities • Bringing programmes that equip children with positive values to make better life choices and skills that boost their employability
  • How do I know that my giving is making a difference?
    We provide reports on the progress of your giving throughout the year. There are a few ways that you can stay updated with our work: • Check out our blog & follow our social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube) • Access our annual reports • Subscribe to our latest email updates *Please note that all giving through the iPay88 payment gateway is subject to a processing fee of 2.8% and there is a transaction limit of RM6, 000. There are also other giving options available – cheque & online transfer.
  • Where does my giving go?
    All donations go to our general fund to support the work of increasing literacy and nutrition among the B40 communities that we serve. We’re committed to using funds in the most effective way to help our beneficiary gain the very best access to quality education. This means investing in measures to ensure the maximum impact to those we serve. Here are some of the things that you invest in when you give: Materials & Activities Food, school uniforms & shoes, school books, supplies & educational material, upkeep of all community premises so that our beneficiaries continue to enjoy a conducive learning environment. Providing tertiary education or vocational training through an education fund, high-quality learning and exposure programmes. On-ground Services People make our programmes run. Salaries, training & development, travel expenses ensure that we are able to deliver the very best service to the beneficiary and reach out to more under-served communities across Malaysia. Operations This includes the running of our offices and administrative expenses so that we can manage our resources and stakeholders effectively.
  • Can I choose specifically whom I give towards?
    Because we adhere to a Child Protection Policy (CPP) that protects the identity of the children we serve, we refrain from direct contact between giver & beneficiary, therefore you will not be able to choose specifically who you give towards. We share updates with the public via email & the resources available on our website.
  • When will I know that my giving has been processed?
    You will receive an immediate notification from iPay88 if your transaction is successful. This is followed by an official non-tax exemption receipt & Thank You email (ensure that your details are keyed in correctly) from finance@gengemilang.org within 14 working days. For online banking & cheque transaction, you will receive your non-tax exemption receipt within 14 working days. Please ensure that your contact details and email address are correct for us to be able to send you the non-tax exemption receipt.   • Can my friends and I pool funds to give?
    Absolutely! Every bit counts so use this opportunity to make a difference together. You may request for individual receipts by emailing finance@gengemilang.org with your online banking/iPay88 successful transactions details.
  • I’d like to give outside of Malaysia. Are there additional transaction costs?
    Thank you so much for your support from overseas! It means the world to us. In addition to the 2.8% processing fee charged by our payment gateway, your giving is subject to foreign exchange conversion or transaction fees that is charged by your foreign bank or credit card provider.
  • Is giving invested optimally?
    We recognize that every resource entrusted to us can transform our client’s lives. We promise to manage the funds received honestly and will use it effectively to benefit our clients. This includes carrying out: Annual audits in accordance with approved standards on auditing in Malaysia by an independent public accounting firm, Baker Tilly Monterio Heng (Audit Firm No: AF 0117). Consistent management reviews and monitoring of operating costs ensure that resources are optimized and within approved budgets. Project evaluations to assess the ongoing effectiveness of our programs in meeting our beneficiaries’ needs.

  • What are the Terms and Conditions of Monthly Giving?
    BY SIGNING UP FOR MONTHLY RECURRING DONATIONS TO YAYASAN GENERASI GEMILANG, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THESE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS PROVIDED HERE. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMEND THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AT ANYTIME WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR MONTHLY RECURRING DONATIONS. Make sure to fill out the Monthly Donation Form completely if you wish to donate on a monthly basis. Yayasan Generasi Gemilang will use all the information to process your donation. It is important that you have provided us with the correct information. When you submit your payment details, these details will be forwarded to our financial service provider, and your payment data will be collected and processed securely. When you opt-in for the monthly recurring donations, you will receive an acknowledgement email including the amount selected as your monthly donation to proceed through our financial service provider. On a monthly basis you will receive a confirmation email showing the non-tax exemption receipt of your monthly donation after it has been processed through your selected credit/debit card. A tax exemption receipt will also be sent to you if you submitted all the relevant details that we need. Please check out the Tax Exemption FAQ. Kindly email to finance@gengemilang.org if you wish to:- - change your donation amount - change your mailing address - change your email address - change your credit/debit card information SHARING OF INFORMATION We will not share your personal details with any other third party other than our financial service provider whom we have retained to perform services on our behalf. However, we do not authorize these service providers to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: ​Validation information will be required and requested via a phone call if necessary. To protect your privacy and security, we will take certain steps to verify or validate your identity or certain information provided such as but not limited to: (i) the email address provided to sign up on the program; (ii) the Last Name provided; and/or (iii) the last 4 digits on the credit/debit card on file) before granting access to make any changes. CANCEL MONTHLY RECURRING DONATIONS If you wish to cancel your monthly recurring donation to Yayasan Generasi Gemilang, you may do so by emailing us at finance@gengemilang.org at least 30 days in advance before your next monthly donation is due to be processed. However, if you have emailed us and your monthly donation has already been processed, there is no refund on that month’s donation. Your request for cancellation will become effective the following month. RESUME MONTHLY RECURRING DONATIONS If you wish to resume your monthly recurring donations to Yayasan Generasi Gemilang, you may do so at any time. All you would need to do is to refill the online monthly donation form, update your information and submit it. Alternatively, for the physical monothly donation form, you can also refill it, update your information, scan and email to us at finance@gengemilang.org or drop the copy in our office; No 82A-1, Jalan PJU 1/3B, Sunwaymas Commercial Centre 47301, Petaling Jaya, Selangor and your monthly recurring donations will resume. In the event of the monthly donation cannot be processed due to your credit/debit card has been declined, or has expired or any other issue with the payment being processed, we will notify you through an email and request for an update of your donation information. Your monthly recurring donation will be on-hold until you update your donation information.
